EU Set to Build Six New AI Factories

(MENAFN) The European High-Performance Computing Partnership Initiative (Euro HPC) revealed on Friday that six additional artificial intelligence (AI) factories will be established across Czechia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, and Spain, further expanding Europe's AI infrastructure.

"The newly selected AI Factories will join the 13 previously chosen sites, forming an interconnected network of AI hubs ready to drive innovation across Europe," Euro HPC stated.

These six countries will develop new AI factories equipped with systems specifically optimized for AI workloads, aiming to broaden the continent’s high-performance computing capabilities.

Notably, the AI Factory in Spain will feature an experimental platform designed as a state-of-the-art infrastructure to develop and test pioneering AI models and applications, fostering collaboration across European borders.

The AI factories will serve as single-point national services, providing extensive support to AI startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, and researchers throughout Europe.

Euro HPC highlighted that this latest expansion is backed by over €500 million ($578.6 million) in funding from the EU and its member states, significantly increasing Europe’s high-performance computing power and accelerating AI adoption in critical industries.

"This expansion strengthens Europe’s position as a global leader in artificial intelligence and ensures that AI solutions can be developed, tested, and scaled within a digitally sovereign European ecosystem," the statement concluded.
